It is with sadness that I hear of Dick’s passing. I first met him when Elco joined the JMC family years ago. His friendliness and willingness to share his experience are traits that I will remember. Let me express my condolences
to his family and previous Elco and JMC associates.
Abby, Emily, and Julia…I am so so sorry for your loss. Unfortunately I know your pain all too well right now. Uncle Dick was one of the most positive people I have ever known, and his perseverance in the face of adversity is unmatched. I’m sorry we can’t be there with you all today. I know what a huge loss this is to all of you, and am especially thinking about Julia. I hope she knows what joy and purpose she brought to his life. Love you all…Jenni
Our sincere condolences to your family! Dick called on us for years and became a good friend as we shared how both of our family business evolved over the years together through our parents and grandparents working together. Such a kind man! He will be missed!

We met Dick and Ann in 1999 on a trip to Ireland sponsored by University is St. Francis. Every morning, they were late for the bus!!!! The first time they got on the bus on-time, everyone clapped. We spent many years with Dick and Ann at their home, on the lake, and just talking. Dick was always positive even after his diagnosis. We talked many times thus past year and told him how glad we were to know him. We will miss him!
Dear cousins,
Our hearts go out to you as we heard of Dick’s death. He was such a sweet, good guy! As kids when our families gathered weather in Ann Arbor or Jackson we had such a happy time.
Some of my siblings really wanted to be there with you today and tomorrow but with the uptick in Covid we thought it would be wiser to stay home and safe. None of us are kids anymore.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and I will pray for you as I watch Mass tomorrow from the Basilica on campus. God bless you at this time and may the angels accompany Dick to his heavenly home.
Love you,
Joe Tomshack family (nan, Mary Fran, Bill, Win, James and Maureen)
