Condolences to Cousin Maurine Hartman Gensheimer and Second Cousin Debra G. Wolfe.
Phyllis, I know, was a charming and giving Christian lady.
I remember being at Aunt Phyllis and Uncle Herm’s wedding reception. It was in a tent in Grandma Hoog’s back yard. I was about 8 years old. I remember how beautiful Aunt Phyllis looked and how happy she and Uncle Herm were. My middle name is Phyllis Ann after her. She was my godmother.
Sorry for your loss Dan and Vida. I always enjoyed her.
Thanks for your kind thoughts. Hope all is well with you.
From niece Nancy, Maurie & Iona’s daughter. As a child, I spent many happy times with aunt Phyllis and uncle Herm at grandma Hoog’s Cottage at the lake. Aunt Phyllis & Uncle Herm took me fishing with them and taught me how to night fish. We took lights and slapped the water & the fish would just jump into the boat! It was the most awesome thing… it probably was illegal but it surely made fun memories. I remember Aunt Phyllis’s wonderful, distinct laugh. My cousin, Janice Hartman (blond) and I were little flower girls at Aunt Phyllis & Uncle Herm’s wedding. That was sooo much fun dropping rose petals all over the place! Aunt Phillis and Grandma Hoog would let me play cards with them sometimes at the lake. Grandma would tap her fingers on the table when Phyllis or I would take too much time. Aunt Phyllis and I would laugh soooo much! She was a wonderful lady.
Thank you Nancy for the kind words. I know Mom and Dad loved to entertain at the lake, especially when they could fish! They did know how to great memories for all of us – and tell some pretty entertaining stories too! Happy New Year to you and your family.
Julie (Klug) Zauner
Phyllis will always be in my memory as one of the most wonderful people I have had the pleasure of knowing. She was a neighbor a friend and always there for so many.
My deepest sympathy to all the Klug kids, they had a mother and a father, Herman, that were the best of parents. God bless all of you.
Thank you George for your kind words of condolence. Mom and Dad truly enjoyed the friendships they made with all the wonderful neighbors in the Lakewood neighborhood. I hope all is well with you and best wishes to you and your family for a Happy New Year.
Please send our SYMPATHY to Dan,Julia, and Laura & their family. Also our sympathy to ALL of our family & friends who loved & remember dear aunt Phyllis. Times like this I am sorry to be way out in California… so far from Ft. Wayne. I can imagine Aunt Phyllis in a cute little fishing boat, in Heaven, with Uncle Herman laughing & pulling in all the fish they can…with delight!
My heartfelt sympathy to the Klug family on the loss of their mother, who was my dear aunt and godmother. I cherish many happy memories of times spent with her while growing up nearby, at the cottage, and on through the years visiting her from out of state. We always had so much fun! Phyllis was a lovely, delightful person, and she will be sorely missed.
When Stan was alive, I along with many others would enjoy many summers at Lake Sylvan. Phyllis and Herman always showed great patience with us, as we were known for our ability to enjoy all that youth had to offer. There were no better people than the Klugs. God Bless them.

Thank you Bob. I know Mom really enjoyed having everyone come visit the lake. She loved the fun and the chaos of a houseful of boisterous guests! It was always a party at Sylvan Lake. Happy New Year to you and your family.
Thank you for all the wonderful memories. May you Rest In Peace.
Love your Grandchildren.
Klug family, my condolences to you on the passing of your mother. I read her obituary in Sunday’s Fort Wayne Journal Gazette. Although many years have gone by I often think about Stan and our friendship. I cherish those memories. I hope you are all well. Go’s bless!
I enjoyed visiting with my Great Aunt Phyllis. Maybe she is in heaven playing cards and laughing with her friends and family who passed before her.
I will miss you so much, but I am happy that you had a Merry Christmas with God and your heavenly family. Ellie
Our thoughts and prayers are always with You.
