Obituary
Patricia J. Witham, 85, of Fort Wayne, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Heritage Park in Fort Wayne.
She was born on June 23, 1938, in Fort Wayne to the late Fred D. and Dorothy (Sax) Schoppman.
Patricia was a 1956 graduate of Central Catholic High School. Following high school, she went on to earn a master’s degree in Education from Saint Francis University.
On June 30, 1962, she married the love of her life, Jack R. Witham. He preceded her in death in 2016.
Patricia was a member of Saint Jude Catholic Church and the Saint Jude Rosary Sodality.
In her free time, Patricia was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling and crosswords, but, most of all, her love for children always shined bright.
Mrs. Witham retired as a 4th Grade Teacher for Saint Joseph Hessen Cassel Catholic School in 1998 after 25 years of imparting wisdom on the next generation.
She is survived by her children, John (Margaret) Witham, Myra (Jeff) Miller, and Homer Witham; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elizabeth Heidenreich.
Also preceding her in death was her step-mother, Cecilia Hinsey-Schoppman
Mass of Chrisitan Resurrection will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Saint Jude Catholic Church 2215, Randallia Drive, Fort Wayne with Calling one hour prior to mass. Calling will also be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2024 at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne with a Rosary being recited at 3:45 p.m.
Memorials may be directed to Saint Jude Catholic School Tuition Fund.
