Uncle Norman will be in my heart knowing all the things we did with watching him do the bee thing to helping me with my cb radio and just talking with him. I will miss that when everyone got together had good time. Also playing volleyball.
My condolences to the family. I met Norm through the family and he was always known to me as a generous person to all. He will be missed by all.
I have know Norm since I started beekeeping in 1981. He helped me to become the beekeeper I am today. I remember the good times we had before he moved to the lake He will be missed

We just watched the livestream funeral Mass and thought it was wonderful to honor Uncle Norm with the flannel shirts and jeans. How he must have loved that! He was so loved, and we know how much he will be missed. Our deepest sympathies to the whole family.
My prayers are for the family, for the comfort & peace of knowing your dad is reunited with your mom in heaven; & they are celebrating together. Our families were very close through the years, with having a few of us, kids, being the best of friends growing up. Just one of the memories I have of your dad was when he came over to dad & moms’ house to get a huge swarm of bees out of a tree, I’ve always remembered that time. God Bless all of you.
Sending prayers for comfort and peace for the entire family at this time. I grew up next door to Norm and remember him always being kind and friendly.
Love, Georgean Borkenstein Myers and Family

To the entire Gunkel Family:
The loss of Norm is tremendous. We have known him and your family for over 30 years. All of you welcomed us first at Messic Lake and then as part of your family gatherings. Norm was Grandpa Gunkel to our girls. We enjoyed his stories about fishing and bee keeping, as well as so many family memories and stories. Our love for him grew deeper each year we knew him. Our memories of him are happy ones and will stay with us forever. We pray for all of you as you mourn this wonderful man. Thank you for sharing him with us all these years. Our hearts go out to Holly also. They had the sweetest relationship and so much laughter together. Heaven gained another angel on Christmas Day and he will be happy to be reunited with his loved ones who have gone before him.
Love, Mary and Neal Hicks, Jenni, Sarah and Danielle
