Obituary
Nancy Mae Eifrid, 84, of Fort Wayne passed away peacefully at her home on May 13, 2020. Nancy was the fifth of six brothers and sisters and was born August 12, 1935 in Fort Wayne to the late Don and Nondas Beck. She attended St. Patrick's grade school, followed by four years of high school at Central Catholic H.S.
Nancy was a remarkable woman who had to adapt to many roles in her life. The most important, however, was being a single mother. When she started working at Bowmar, the ages of her children were 5, 3, 2 and 1. She started as a clerk-typist in 1966 and worked her way up into a variety of different positions at Bowmar, until retiring 34 years later in 2000.
She worked hard to be a good mother to her children, sending them all to Catholic schools, taking them to various school activities over the years and doing everything else she could to give them a good upbringing.
As a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Nancy will be remembered as a hard-working, loving, faith-driven and kind woman. She found pleasure in simple things which brought her joy such as; pink and purple flowers, watching QVC, football and soaps on television, eating chocolate candy, drinking Coca-Cola, reading & especially Richard Paul Evans. She took great pride in her home where she lived for 56 years and the many members of her family that would visit and spend holidays with her.
Nancy is preceded in death by her sisters, Rita Ryan and Donna Todd; brothers, James Beck, Eugene Beck and Robert Beck. She is survived by her children, Edward E Eifrid, Angela S Eifrid, Jeannine M (Mark) Beck, Anthony S (Kim) Eifrid; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a private service will be held to honor Nancy. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and to the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend to support TV Mass Production (Send to: Sunday TV Mass P.O. Box 390 Fort Wayne, Indiana 46801).

My grandma, Rosan, was Nancy’s best friend. They were wonderful friends until she passed away a few years ago. I like to think of them both in heaven now playing bridge and having a really good laugh and a hug. Many condolences to you during this time!
In memory of this stubbornly supportive woman whose influence (& fudge) was greater than she knew. May what’s next be full of football, the Corinthos smolder, Gene Kelly dancing, chocolate and peace.
Love, Alice

Rest in the arms of Jesus, Sweet Nancy! Your labor has ended and all the love and sacrifices you have made have not gone unnoticed. May the angels come to greet you and escort you into Heaven where you will be in the presence of God, all His Saints and Martyrs and reunited with loved ones gone before you. To Ed, Angie, Tony and NiNi, I pray you find comfort in knowing she is at rest.
Jeanine and Family,
I’m so sorry to learn of your mother’s passing. She was a remarkable woman, and I remember how much you loved and admired her when we worked together all those many years ago. I know your wonderful memories will help you thru all the sadness at this difficult time. Your mom will now be guiding all of you from her Heavenly home as your guardian angel. My sincere condolences to all of you.
Aunt Nancy was a lover of chocolate and Murphy donuts. We always loved visiting her & of course bringing these sweet treats.
Our next trip to Arby’s & Cindy’s Diner will be a toast to Aunt Nancy❣️
