Obituary
Marjorie Mary Motherwell, 98, passed away February 2, 2020, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Born November 12, 1921 to Elizabeth and Martin Schof of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Marjorie was a graduate of St. Augustine's Catholic Girls School and was in the first graduating class of Central Catholic High School in 1939. She went onto jobs primarily with Lincoln Life and then the family business. On February 22, 1945, Marjorie married Richard J. Motherwell. They were stationed in Texas and California while Dick remained in the U.S. Air Force. They returned to Ft. Wayne to friends and families and to raise one of their own. The family became active members and volunteers in the Queen of Angels Catholic Church and school, settling in the North Highlands community area. Marjorie was a partner and operations manager in Dick's real estate business. She was also a member of the Reserve Officers (ROAL), Catholic Women's Organization, and the Rosary Society. Her back door was always open and the food could always be stretched. Known for her devotion to God and the Blessed Mother Mary; her kindness, generosity, hard work, and her beautiful smile, she will remain a part of innumerable lives. Marjorie was pre-deceased by her loving husband of 64 years Richard; and is survived by her children Julie of Maine, Christine, Joseph, Daniel (Celeste) of Fort Wayne, and Michael (Staci) of Georgia; grandchildren Stephen (Megan), Emily, Aubrey David (Lindsay) Muta, Ana, Aidan; and one great-grandson Reichen. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2020, at Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 1500 W. State Blvd. with calling one hour prior. Visitations also from 3-5 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne with Rosary recited at 7:30. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Queen of Angels Rosary Society, 1500 W State Blvd., Ft Wayne, IN. or charity of choice.
