Obituary
Linden (Lynn) Joseph Wyss, 70, was one of the quiet ones you never had to keep your eye on. He was always there with a welcoming kindness, a goofy joke, a batch of grilled chicken wings, and a sauntering gate you couldn’t help but watch as he walked away. When he died on December 3, 2017, his 70 years of life still looked young on him. The youngest of 13 children, he was born on July 8, 1947 to Albert and Monica (Harkenrider) Wyss. Linden’s farming roots were evident in the loving care he put into the historic J.B.Wyss homestead where he and his wife, Linda, and their sons, Brad and Andrew, lived since 1982. Between Linda’s flair for gardening and decorating, and Lynn's handy work and diligent care, his home was his haven. It was the perfect place to give his boys room to grow, and the scene of many memorable family reunions and gatherings. He lovingly nurtured the homestead as it nurtured him. Linden served in the U.S.Army during Vietnam from 1966-1968. He graduated from the University of St. Francis with a degree in Accounting, and worked in finance throughout his career. He leaves behind a large close-knit family, including his wife, Linda; sons Brad and Andrew (Ellen); 3 grandchildren, Marion, Sloan and Grayson; siblings Clifford (Monica), Theresa (Carl), Maurice, Evelyn, Lourine, Lurana, Marion (Karla) and Gerard (Karen); many beloved nieces and nephews, friends, and co-workers. He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Rita, Ronald, Gerald and Jane. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church Hessen Cassel, 11521 Old Decatur Rd, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. A private natural green burial will be in Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne. Memorial contributions may be made to: J.B.Wyss Homestead Fund or Veterans Administration of Northern Indiana Health Care System.
