Solomon wrote, “the living are conscious that they will die, but the dead are conscious of nothing”.(Ecclesiastes 9:5) A thousand years later Jesus would describe his friend Lazarus who had died as one who is sleeping. After resurrecting Lazarus Jesus said, “do not marvel at this for the day is coming when all those in the memorial tombs will hear my voice and come out”. (John 5:28,29) One fine day my classmate will awaken.
What a most beautiful thought!
