John “Jack” J. Monnier, 79, of New Haven died August 17, 2019 at Parkview Memorial Hospital Randallia, Fort Wayne, IN. John was born December 8, 1939 in Fort Wayne. He was the son of the late Elmer and Martha Monnier. He was graduate of Central Catholic High School Class of 1958 and worked for International Harvester/Navistar for 30 years, retiring in 1988. After retirement, he drove a school bus for East Allen County Schools 14 years. John was a member of Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven, IN. and enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing cards, golf, fishing and bowling and a passionate fan of Notre Dame and the Cubs. John is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Sandy of New Haven, IN; children Timothy (Mary) Monnier, Debbie (John) Didier, Daniel (Tina) Monnier and Thomas (Stacey) Monnier all of Fort Wayne, IN; 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; brother, Jim (Lucy) Monnier of Fort Wayne, IN; sister, Pat (Bob) Heintzelman of Muncie, IN; . John was preceded in death by his grandsons, Adam, Bradley and Christopher Monnier, great grandson De Angelo Didier, sister, Mary Lou Gigli. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am, Friday, August 23, 2019 at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church New Haven IN, 943 Powers St. with calling one hour prior. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 22, 2019, from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne, with a Vigil at 3:30 pm. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorial contributions may be made to: Masses or Active Day.
