When I think of John I always remember how happy he was and with a big smile on his face. I’ve known him for a long time and what I admire most about him is how he ALWAYS put his wife and kids first. Rest easy big John and say hello to Nancy for me!
Please accept our most heartfelt sympathies for your loss. Our thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.

We are so sad to hear of the passing of John, such a great guy. In high school John was bigger than life, not just stature, but personality, always a big smile. In life John was the leader to the Elmhurst Little League, he brought sponsors, and parents and kids together to work and play, he brought lights so the game would never end. He was always present!! My heart breaks for Cathi and family. He will be missed but never forgotten. May the Peace of John’s everlasting love be with you all forever, ❤️
We were so sad to of John’s passing. I enjoyed watching him play football in High School and playing basketball at St Henry. We had some brutal games. Most of all I enjoyed coaching the boys. He will be forever missed and always in our thoughts and prayers.

John has been in our family for a long time. I can remember him taking Cathi, myself and all my sisters to cedar point and riding all the spinning rides with him. He rode the double ferris wheel with me and that’s a story in itself. The memories and love will keep him close. My heart goes out to my sister and nephews and their families. He will be missed. Hugs and love to you all. ❤
I have such wonderful memories hanging at the Gigli house throughout high school. Endless times Mr Gigi aka “Rush” would tell us to quiet down. Despite the times we still never quieted down and he had to yell to no end, you could see the twinkle in his eye that he loved having us there ❤️ Rest in Peace
Mr. Gigi. Thank you for your bear hugs and great laugh! You were one of the best!

John had been such a great friend for over 42 years. John’s love of God, Cathi, and his 4 boys and grandkids, shown clearly through every conversation we had together. John was a wonderful role model. In the thousands of times that we spoke, he would always ask how Marty, myself, our kids and grandchildren were before we ever spoke business. John and I became longtime friends from starting out as business associates. There was always more to his life than the business aspect. I will miss John dearly and our enduring friendship. My deepest sympathy to the Gigli family!!
Cathi and family,
Our thoughts, prayers, and deepest sympathy are with all of you, as we grieve the passing of such a sweet friend and a blessing to so many. We know he is safe , in the arms of his Savior and reunited with his loved ones. May that be a comfort to all of you, at this most difficult time….. Love you, Jorja & Steve Smith
Prayers for your hurting hearts…that soon you will wipe away the tears and be able to smile at the memory of one you loved so much. May those memories and the love of family and friends bring peace and comfort as we trust that he is in the loving care of our Heavenly Father. I have great memories of your family while at St. Therese Church and School. And I will keep you in my prayers as your lives adjust to his being gone. But never forgotten…
