John was very kind, considerate and generous with a wonderful sense of humor..He was deeply in love with my sister Barbara and it clearly showed. I will miss him terribly .May his soul Rest-in-Peace.
My deepest sympathies to his family and friends.
Love Ralph
I would like to add that even though I haven’t known John for as long as Ralph, he was very welcoming to me when I first met him. I told him about my love of water since I grew up on a lake most of my life. He was eager and proud to show me around their lake house and his love for sailboats and the many pictures they had. He was also happy to discuss the trips he and Barbara took with their Motorhome.
John also loved when Ralph and I took he and Barbara for ice cream a couple of times a month. It was just a joy for us as it was for them.. Every time I’ll see a Snoopy I will think of him and miss him dearly.
Love Nancy
To: The John Baker Family
We are so sorry for your loss, and know his passing will leave a hole in your hearts and your world.
Mr. Baker was always such a kind man, he always made me comfortable when I was in his home. I remember when I was home alone and my back door opened, I ran to his house as fast as I could. He came home with me with a baseball bat and went through the house with me looking in every closet and under every bed until I felt comfortable. It really meant a lot. He was truly a good person.
We always loved spending time with Pops and Mom! Pops always lovingly opened their home for special events or just time to visit with them at Crooked Lake. Our daughters Ashley and Tessa especially enjoyed their trips with Pops and Mom either at the lake or traveling on the road with them. Pops celebrated the joy of simple pleasures – quiet time on the deck by the lake, a funny Snoopy comic, or seeing his family. We will deeply miss Pops and his love for all of us.
Such peaceful encouragement he has shown us all will not go unnoticed but dearly missed.
I had the honor of having John as my father in law. He was a kind man, generous and loving. He was a wise man, often quiet, but when he spoke you listened. I enjoyed our times traveling together and spending time at Crooked Lake. He shared his knowledge with me over the years. He will be greatly missed.
Beth and I were blessed to have you as our Dad. We appreciate your love and guidance throughout our life. You had a great sense of humor that will live on. You touched many lives and you will be greatly missed. We love you ♥️
John will remain in our hearts forever
