James C. Henry, 93, of Fort Wayne died peacefully September 20, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. James was born to the late Clem and Ella Henry on June 9, 1929 in New Haven, IN. He was a member of Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. He Joined the Navy on his 17th birthday. He was on Admiral Byrd's expedition in the south pole. He retired from International Harvester after 41 years service, retiring in 1986. American Legion Post 330, VFW and K of C. Jim enjoyed playing bridge. Jim is survived by daughter, Cynthia Henry-Carter; son David M. (Tien) Henry of Cape Coral Fl. three sisters, Rita O'Connor, Ruth Ann May, Renee (Bill) Fletcher; three brothers, Francis Henry, Richard (Rose) Henry and Sam (Karen) Henry; grandchildren Shannon (Troy) Scheumann, Heather (Nigel) Trice, Tabatha Henry, Tyler Henry, Justin Henry; great grand daughter Haylie (Ty) Garricken and his sweet loving companion Sue. James was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Vivian Henry; son, James Henry Jr. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am, Monday, September 26, 2022 at Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4916 Trier Rd with calling one hour prior. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 25, 2022, 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Saint Mary's Soup Kitchen and Harvest House.

Uncle Jim was a blessing to many, enjoyed the memories . God’s blessings to those he touched and meant so much.

I only knew Jim thru the bridge center. He was a good bridge player, and always so friendly and kind. I have missed him in the recent weeks. I am very sorry for his loss.

Jim was a wonderful, kind man. He was a wonderful friend and I am glad to have worked with him. He always asked me about my dad. Dad worked at International Harvester. I will miss seeing him at Walmart. You and your family will be in my prayers and thoughts. He will be greatly missed.
