Obituary
Helen Victoria Gochenour, 92, of Fort Wayne passed away peacefully November 30, 2019. Helen was born November 15, 1927 in Indiana Harbor, IN. She was a long standing member of Tri Kappa Sorority, Central High School Alumni Club and various other volunteer organizations. She worked for the City of Fort Wayne for over 25 years, 18 of those years as a clerk to the Board of Works. She was loved by all. Helen is survived by daughter, Jane (Brian) Moran of Apple Valley, MN; sons, Doug Gochenour of Fort Wayne, David Gochenour of Cape Canaveral, FL, and Gregory (Stephanie) Gochenour of Kettering, OH; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brothers, Daniel Holom, Phillip Holom; and sisters, Diana Pape, Susan (Doug Holtgreven) Law all of Fort Wayne. Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years Dean F. Gochenour; parents Philip and Elizabeth Holom; sisters, Victoria Benecke, Philomena Barta; and granddaughter, Erin Moran. Funeral Mass will be 1:30 pm, Saturday, December 7, 2019 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4916 Trier Rd with calling one hour prior. Visitation will be held Friday, December 6, 2019, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Kingston Care Center (Activities), 1010 W. Washington Center Rd, Fort Wayne.

Our family is so grateful to have had the chance to know Helen. Truly a lady, and a wonderful one. Always so willing to help and share any knowledge, especially of Romanian cooking, that she could. We enjoyed her so much. Love Bruce and Jo
