Obituary
Donna Jean “dj” Hopkins, 77, went home to be with the Lord on Friday November 3, 2023. Dj was the daughter of the late Ronald and Erma Horine. She was a graduate of Roanoke High School and later a graduate of Ivy Tech Community College with an associate degree in paralegal studies. After graduating, dj was a self-employed paralegal owning Dj’s Paralegal and Confidential Typing Services, Inc. Prior to this she was a dispatcher for the Allen County Sheriff's Department and worked for ITT Defense. Past community involvement includes being a former EMT for Washington Township Fire Department where she met her husband of 39 years and the Northeast Indiana Paralegal Association. Dj enjoyed scrapbooking, card making and spending time with her family. Dj is survived by her husband of 39 years William; siblings Ruth Anne Castor and James (Brenda) Horine; doggy daughter, Joee; nieces and nephews, Trent (Chrystal) Castor, Ashley (Brandon) Johnson, Deanna (Cruz) Garcia and Dean (Alexa) Sorg; and several great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister Carol. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Thursday November 9, 2023, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. with visitation 11:30 am – 1:30 pm. Entombment will be in Lindenwood Cemetery. Preferred memorials may be made to Grace Brethren Church.

I’m sorry I haven’t had a chance to let you know that you and yours are still in my thoughts and prayers. Your life is forever changed with your loss and the Lord will provide you the strength to get you through this, lean on him. Even though miles separate us physically our friendship is lasting. God bless you my friend and look to him for your strength.
