Obituary
Curtis Russell Isley, 48, of Fort Wayne died September 6, 2020 unexpectedly at his home. He was born October 31, 1971 in Fort Wayne. He attended high school at Northrop, graduating in 1990. He attended IPFW for 2 years.
He worked as a personal banker for Star Financial Bank for the last 8 years. In his role as a trainer at the bank, he was one of the first to have interactions with a lot of the new employees. In the last few days since his passing, we are amazed and thankful for all the kind words expressed by everyone in his Star family. We never knew how many people’s lives he impacted or influenced.
To say he was an avid gamer is an understatement. He loved any kind of game, be it card games, board games, dice games, RPG, video games or other computer games. He loved anything related to games but especially Dungeons & Dragons. His favorite vacation was his yearly pilgrimage to Gen Con with his friends. He loved being a Dungeon Master and running games. He was an amazing storyteller and had the best imagination. He loved playing new games and especially teaching his nieces and others new games.
He loved watching all kinds of sports and following his favorite teams, the Indianapolis Colts, Cincinnati Reds and the New York Islanders. His favorite times were Sundays during NFL football season when he would hang out at Buffalo Wild Wings on Dupont with his friends and family watching all the sports he could.
He loved jokes and puns of any kind. He spoke fluent movie quotes and sarcasm. He was great at accents and funny voices. He had even signed up for a voice-over class at Purdue Fort Wayne because he thought it would be fun.
Curtis is survived by his parents, Terry & Cathy Isley, sister Regina (Keith) Layman and 3 nieces, Gabrielle, Reith & Amelia Layman all of Fort Wayne. Funeral Service will be 11:00 am, Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Christ Church Fort Wayne, 3131 Maplecrest Rd., Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior. Visitation will be held Friday, September 11, 2020, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne. Memorial contributions may be made to the Curtis Isley Gaming Fund.

I am so sorry you lost Curt. To this day over 30 years later I still remember the night he and I met and how he turned me on to the joy of comic books. He was one of the kindest people I ever met.
Rest in Peace Curtis.
I will always treasure my memories of Curt and the friendship he gave me. Love to you all.

I worked with Curtis at Taco Bell years ago. It is such a pleasure to have those memories. He was a good man. So sorry for your Families loss. Prayers.
I used Curt’s love for movie trivia against him on a great joke. When he worked at Papa’s he did dishes. Behind him was shelving for clean dishes and on top of the shelving was some boxes.
I wrote the launch code in the movie Wargames on the box. I told every employee to ask him about it sometime during the night and act like it was common knowledge as they read it off to him. Plus, act shocked he didn’t know it since he loved movies so much. He was so frustrated by the end of the night when I showed him and laughed uncontrollably.
Because of that I still remember it by heart to this day. Even won a few bucks in bar bets with it through the years. CPE1704TKS
We had our fun and I still see him dancing while cleaning the dishes or in the mirror at our closing party, both times when he thought no one was looking.
He was always playful and had the best imagination. During one role playing game he ran, he created an entire city on graph paper. There were about fifty stores and each store had an owner with a name, personality and crazy voice. He loved entertaining others. He will sorely be missed.
Curt and I were friends in school he was always kind and I have thought about him many times through the years. I am sad to hear of his passing. Bob Babbitt

He was such an incredibly kind soul. I remember riding the bus with him in elementary school. He always smiled at people and had kind things to say. My prayers to his family. He was taken too soon.
So many great memories going back to Elementary school. Enjoyed many sleepovers watching movies with Curt, Kathy and Regina. Still eat potato chips with ketchup to this day thanks to Curt. Sending much love and prayers to the family.
My heart is broken for all of you. Curt will be sorely missed by MANY people. I will always have great memories of being with him.
