I worked with Bart for over 30 years. In addition I worked with him on the ATU Local 682 Executive Board for 20 years. Bart was very dedicated as a bus driver and union president of ATU Local 682. He definitely will be missed by all. He was always helpful to his passengers and fought for union rights and benefits. It was an honor to work with him. I will miss visiting with him on the phone. His wonderful pride and appreciation for doing the right thing is to be admired. Thank you Bart for just being you and making life easier for your fellow union brother and sisters. As well as going above and beyond for your passengers. My deepest sympathy to Jaki & family. God Be With You At This Most Difficult Time.
I’m sorry you lost your battle cousin.
May you rest in peace!🕊️
I have great & loving memories with you and all of the cousins at Uncle Max’s house and of course all of the family reunions we used to have.
Prayers and hugs to all of the family🙏🏼
Miss you all🤗
It was always Bart and Jacki. They made any gathering a fun time for all. My wife, Mo and I enjoyed Bart and he always seemed to enjoy life. Two great kids too. I will always remember bringing home a huge slab of bacon, won as a prize from a night at the Beagle Club. I had no clue what to do next with it, shave hog stubble and all. My wife was not happy but it was a lifetime of laughs since that night and still is to me. Rest now Bart. Strength to Jacki.

To a great person, who has always been there for Cindy & I. He will be missed by the Jimmerson Lake group. Prayers!!
Jaki, I did not know your husband (my loss) but I remember you as a dedicated public servant in the US Post Office, although I’ve not seen you for many years. You have our sympathy and our wishes for God’s comfort for you and your family. My wife, Jane Porter Gresham, did know Bart, as she served on the NE Indiana Central Labor Council for a number of years, representing AFSCME. Since she is recovering from a mild case of COVID-19, she feels it best that we not come to the calling/service in order not to share any remaining virus with others, but our thoughts are with you.
Just always a kind man with a smile on his face. Enjoyed listening to him talk about his scuba diving. Barr will be dearly missed.❤️🩹🙏🏻
I met Bart for the first time when I was 16 years old at a family dinner. He greeted me by calling me Carlos, instead of Karla. I loved his sense of humor from then until I spoke to him just a few months ago. He worked so hard all of his life, but he knew how to make time to have a good time just as well. He was “a lover and a fighter” – that certainly came in handy when her arbitrated for his coworkers at the bus company! I admired his love and devotion toward his family, including his parents, in-laws, siblings, and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law as well. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren, rightfully so. I admire the love and devotion that his wife, Jaki, had for him, and how she stayed by his side throughout all of his health crises to the very end. I admire the close relationship he had with his children, Cortney and Sean, as well.
Whether or not John Wesley truly wrote this quote or not, I witnessed my brother-in-law, Bart, live his life like this: “Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as you ever can.”
