Obituary
In Loving Memory,
Anna Maria (Foglio) Arora, 96, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her husband and daughters on January 14th, 2021
Anna grew up near the Italian mountainside village of Bergamo just north of Milan where her family owned a textile company. She attended university in Venice studying languages and education. In order to hone her English, she moved to London where she met her future husband Chand. After several years, they moved to Canada for job opportunities. Anna embraced her new country making some wonderful friends. She even learned to enjoy the cold and snow. In 1968, they settled in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she happily lived the rest of her life.
Anna possessed many talents. She was a gifted artist and through the years many friends received a personal painting as a keepsake. She was a member of the Fort Wayne Artists Guild and a docent at the art museum. She kept up her language skills by taking translation jobs and teaching Italian. In addition, she was an expert seamstress and tatter. She also loved music, had perfect pitch and a beautiful voice. But of all her talents, making people feel special and welcome was her forte. She had a remarkable memory for the little details in everyone’s life. She delighted in hearing of her friends' successes and held them close during their difficulties.
True to her Italian roots, Anna seemed incapable of speaking without waving her hands. She had a deep passion for life and fierce resolve. Anna and Chand had a robust social life filled with lots of parties, usually with children in tow, as they conversed and laughed with their good friends until the wee hours. She loved being a mother and good-naturedly allowed her children to outsource her talents as they have no artistic talent whatsoever.
Anna will be dearly missed and fondly remembered as the woman with the golden heart.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Chandra Arora of Fort Wayne, daughters Anita (Karl) Rosenberger, Vania (Wat) Keys, grandsons Joseph and Benjamin Keys, brother, Gerardo (Tita) Foglio Stobbia and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Franca Boffelli and her brother Luigi Foglio.
Due to COVID-19 concerns, there will be a private service at Divine Mercy Catholic Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne. The family plans to hold a celebration of Anna’s life when it is safe to do so.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Community Harvest Food Bank of Fort Wayne.

Alex and I had the pleasure of spending a Thanksgiving dinner with Anita mom and dad in Carl was one of the best evenings I’ve ever had. Her mother was just so gracious and kind. We will miss her and her bright smile. Love always, Alex and Barb
Anna was always in the kitchen, cooking for so many. A donation from Mack and Linda to the Fort Wayne Community Harvest Food Bank has been made in her name.
The last time we were together we had lunch at a cafe in Cary. I’ll always remember the way her face lit up when Ben, on his way home from school, saw us, ran into the cafe and hugged her. Her love for her grandsons transcended everything. She is missed by so many.
Our thoughts are with all of you, may God help you at this moment and always, WE LOVE YOU
I will hold my memories of Auntie Anna close to my heart and know that her spirit and zest for life lives on in her girls, Anita and Vania. My condolences and love to all of you.
I remember Aunty Anna’s beautiful artwork, endless energy and fiesty nature. I always felt her true concern for me when we spoke. I can still hear her rendition of “hot blooded” in my head. My memories of her her make me happy. 💜💜💜💜 Love you.
With deepest sympathy and love.
