Dear Sherry and all the nieces and nephews.
I am so sorry for your loss. Janet was a very special lady and had a special place in my heart. She and I became friends when I was involved in our school. She would make cutout cookies for our second graders for 1st communion and for our teacher luncheons. Through the years we served many meals together. She taught me what it means to have a generous heart and share your time and talent with others. I am so blessed to call her my friend and even more blest that the Lord had our paths cross so many years ago. She will be greatly missed at St Jude I am so sorry I didn’t attend the wake or the funeral Mass. I just found out about her passing today. Please know if my prayers for all of you and for the soul of Janet. The lord will welcome her home. May she rest in peace.
With deepest sympathy
Christine Nix.
So sorry to hear of Janet’s passing. She was a special person
Sherry, you and the family are in my prayers. Janet was a great sister and aunt and friend. Hang on to all the memories. Sending hugs.
Dear Sherry,
I was shocked to read of Janet’s death, and am so sorry for you and your family. As you may remember, Janet was a good friend to so many of us in our CC class, and I have fond memories of going to your house after school on Friday game days, your mom preparing dinner for us, taking us to the game and then bringing us back to your house after the game for ice cream with lots of toppings. This was in our early CC years before any of us were old enough to drive. Your mom and dad were kind and generous to all of Janet’s friends. As I read Janet’s impressive obituary, I saw that she continued your parents’ philosophy of giving. St. Jude was my home parish for many years, and I know from my parents’ funeral buffets what a kind and appreciated gesture that was. I have no words to ease your pain, but please know that Janet was a dear friend during high school and beyond, and I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved sister.
Janet. We all loved working with you at St Jude’s funeral dinners. Your cookies were always the best! You will be missed. Always in our hearts. St Jude Funeral Ladies
Janet and I became friends in 1981 when I moved to Ft Wayne, She was such an easy, friendly soul who laughed and shared her many talents with those around her We shared out love for golf, cooking, sewing and most of all family. Janet always included me in family gatherings and I have always appreciated getting to know her sister Sherri and her beloved nephews as well as her parents. We have remained friends through the years though I have moved away. A lot of our visiting has had to be by phone in recent years, but there was never a lapse in interest or conversation. I think of her daily when my husband and I wrap ourselves in her beautiful quilts. I will miss being able to pick up the phone and catch up on life, but will always be grateful for her loyal and sincere friendship.
When a dear friend leaves us, a piece of us goes with her. We wlll miss Janet’s smiling face and her generous soul.
