Dennis James Farnan, 79, of Fort Wayne passed away February 15, 2022, at St. Anne Home & Retirement Community, Fort Wayne, IN. Dennis was born on November 1, 1942, in Mason City, Iowa to the late Thornton and Geraldine Farnan of Clear Lake, Iowa. Dennis was known for his constant smile, active Catholic faith, appreciation for family and friends, and being an active part of the community. Dennis earned his bachelor’s degree from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, and Masters in Business Administration from Golden Gate University in San Francisco, California. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. After the Air Force, Dennis had a long career in the automotive supply industry in northeast Indiana, including working for over 20 years at Cooper Tire & Rubber in Auburn, Indiana. He was a long-time member of St. Henry Catholic Church, where he served the community in a variety of capacities including Home & School Association president, assistant sports coach, Cub Scouts, lector and eucharistic ministry coordinator, and parish and school strategic planning. He was also active with the South Fort Wayne Kiwanis Club for many years. Dennis was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Maureen, and is survived son, Sean (Julie) Farnan of Elmhurst, IL; daughter, Stephanie (Keith) Marlow of Temecula, CA; grandchildren, Meghan and Finley Farnan, and Isabella and Jude Marlow. Dennis was preceded in death by his brothers, David Farnan and William Farnan. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Monday, February 21, 2022, at St.Jude Catholic Church, 2155 Randallia, with calling one hour prior. Visitation also Sunday, February 20, 2022, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. Fort Wayne, with the rosary at 3:00 pm. Burial will be at Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Matthew 25 Clinic, Marianist Missions, or Visiting Nurse Hospice.

I was so sad to hear about the loss of your father. Sending prayers your way. I know you have a lot of great memories of him I hope they comfort you. Ill always remember him as a kind, thoughtful man. He left a great legacy in you and your families. I know this is a difficult time for you, please know our prayers are with you.
Denny was a beloved brother in law to the Barry family. He was a kind gentle soul who loved God, family and a wide host of friends. Love to the Farnan and Marlow families

I am sorry to read of Denny’s passing. I worked with him at Cooper and Nishikawa Standard. We worked well together and had many common goals and interests. He was a good man and had many progressive ideas. We fought together on several projects that management would not endorse. I just know that we were friends and I think we enjoyed each others company. Rest in peace my friend.
