Obituary
Darlene G. Gennaitte, 91, of Fort Wayne, died Wednesday, October 25, 2023. She was born in Fort Wayne on December 22, 1931, the daughter of the late Alton and Alma (Franke) Liddy. Darlene graduated from Central High School with the Class of ’49. Music and singing were foremost in Darlene’s younger years. She sang, along with other family members, in the choir at St. Peter Catholic Church; she also sang with her sisters on the Major Bowes radio program on WOWO; they were known as “The Liddy Sisters”. She was a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church and retired from the medical billing office at St. Joseph Medical Center after 22 years with the hospital. Darlene is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Mansaray of Fort Wayne and Michele (Howard Martin) Sewell of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Andrew (Megan) Mansaray of Indianapolis, Domonic (Rianna Rankin) Sewell and Lyndsay Sewell, both of Fort Wayne, Nicole Sewell of Grover Beach CA, and a host of nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Fredrick Gennaitte and her second husband, Angelo “Mike” Gennaitte; a daughter, Louise Morales, and sisters, Betty Shultz, Sharon Meeks and Sandra Crosley. Mons and Megan,
We are thinking of you and your entire family. We hope you are able to come together and remember all the things you loved about your grandma and celebrate her!
We are so sorry for your loss. Our hearts are happy that Mom, Aunt Darlene, Aunt Sharon and Aunt Betty are altogether again. I’m sure they are laughing and singing.
