Obituary
Ryan Patrick Harding, of Fort Wayne, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024. He was 32 years old. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend to so many, and was taken entirely too soon. Ryan was born April 29, 1992, and was raised in Fort Wayne. He is the son of Randy and Cathy Harding of Fort Wayne. He is survived by his parents and his brother, Michael (Sarah) Harding of Bloomington, Indiana; sister, Rachel Harding of Fort Wayne; niece Maren and nephew Nolan; aunts, uncles, cousins, and so very many friends. He was a graduate of St. John the Baptist Catholic School in Fort Wayne and South Side High School. Ryan’s first word was “ball.” He was a gifted athlete from a young age and sports were a major part of his life. Soccer was his main passion and he played competitively and for fun throughout his life. He met many of his lifelong friends through playing the game he loved. Ryan also played football, rugby, and basketball, and was an avid fan of just about any sport. He was kicker for the South Side football team, and among his many soccer accomplishments was a Sectional championship for South Side his senior year. Ryan was affectionately known as “Lechero” to many of his friends, most of whom were essentially family. He enjoyed Latino and Hispanic music and culture. He loved to share in the joy and celebrations of others, at births, baptisms, quinces, graduations, and weddings. He was always there for the people he loved and was fiercely loyal to them. There is so much Ryan did not get a chance to do in a life cut tragically short. He would have made a wonderful husband and father. But he connected with and touched the lives of so many in his short time. He will be dearly missed. Funeral service will be held 12:00pm, Saturday June 22, 2024, with visitation one hour prior to the service at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne. Visitation also will be 4:00 – 8:00 pm Friday June 21, 2024, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home.

Dear Cathy and Randy, I am so sorry for your tragic loss.. my prayers go out to you and your family in this time of sadness and grief. 🙏
Randy & Cathy, it is hard to imagine what you are going through. We have lost way too many of our young boys in our rugby family. As we know, Ryan has work to do and is why he was called home. May you rest some in knowing that and, you shall see him again.
From another mother praying for your family
Long live Lechero. Breaks my heart to hear of his passing. Ryan was a good friend and coworker; always kept it real.
