Obituary
Michael R. Pranger, 76, of Fort Wayne, died Saturday June 15, 2024. Mike was born in Fort Wayne on August 5, 1947, the son of (the late) Walter and Mary (Crakes) Pranger. He graduated from Central Catholic High School with the Class of ’65, and proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. On January 25, 1969, Mike married Mary (Slater) Pranger, who survives after 55 years of marriage, along with son Tony (Michelle) Pranger, and daughter, Jenny (Scott Leger) Pranger, all of Fort Wayne. In addition to his parents, Mike was also preceded in death by his brother Charles “Chuck” Pranger.
Mike was a member of the American Legion, Jack Brinker Post 409 in Leo-Cedarville. He cherished the time he spent with his family; he especially enjoyed taking them to the drag races and various car shows. He also enjoyed travelling with Mary, especially the cruises. Mike retired in 2005 as an Area Manager for Dana Corp. after 40 years with the company. He was a loving husband, wonderful father and a good friend to many. He will be greatly missed.
